Jejomar Binay is reputably one of the best mayors in the world. Yeah I admit it he knows his mayor shit. Would his experience be enough to turn this country around? A lot of questions and also a lot of possible answers.

Shining Trophy: Makati

According to the commercial, Makati has pretty much subsidized everything from education to health to senior citizens. The subsidies are a mean feat, but isn’t that supposed to be done in the whole country? Why hasn’t it been done? Because it would cost money.  Money Makati has to spare. Really?

To be honest I think the Ayalas has to take credit  for Makati’s growth. Have you ever been in the outskirts of Makati? There are still slums which has been around for the past 20 or so years. Show the other side of Makati not just the CBD. And if you really care for the poor, then why not adopt every squatter found on Metro Manila?

I believe that a person who has great experience with the local government is a great candidate for the country's government. Don't under estimate Binay becuase even if you do have a rich area, when you don't have the leadership skills, you'll go down. We'll keep an open mind on him :)

I dont really understand what your piece is driving at, but here's my two cents:

    1. It does not take a genius to govern a city or a even a country and lead it towards prosperity. It's easy. All that needs to be done is to make sure people follow the law, and that includes the ones enforcing it. Whether the law is fair or unfair is another matter, but you get my point. Unconvinced? What do you think the first world countries have in common?

    2. Please do not credit the Ayalas too much for Makati's growth (or did you mean just the commercial district?). Just like any big business, they would bleed Makati dry if they could. They would bleed the whole country dry for that matter. Proof? Anybody worth his salt would know P1 per text message is too damn much for the average Jose. Who do you think owns one of the biggest telecoms franchises in the country? Or if you are up to it, take a look at the (past and pending) land cases in court and see who's right in the thick of it, among many other prestigious names.

    3. Makati is just a microcosm of the whole country. Right in the middle is the haves pushing the have-nots (and has beens) out to the sidelines.

    4. As for the poor, WHY should I care for them? Do they deserve my care just because they are poor? Pardon me for thinking that that sort of altruism is such bullshit because I feel that would only make my love a cheap commodity.

And who would you classify as poor? Would you include the holdup gangs, the snatchers, the rapists who are financially challenged? Would you include the bums, the drunks and the louts? They're poor too. How do you know they need or want help in the first place?

And if the Ayalas are so oh much "richer" than I am, would I be justified in wanting to be adopted by the Ayalas? Maybe if everybody in this godforsaken country just stuck his nose in his own honest business and pulled his own weight, we wouldn't be in this sorry mess.

    1. First world countries have money we do not.
    2. I gave credit to the Ayalas because they have their own interests in Makati's development.
    3. Makati is not the focus of my post Binay is.
    4. They do not care for you either. Everybody needs help even you(for your erectile dysfunction).

What is it with the Ayalas? Its about freaking Binay!
